Vincenzo Zancana explores the processes and mechanisms that define the relationship between humans and objects, as well as humans and their environment. His analysis unfolds through multiple perspectives: from memory to the obsessive nature of repetition, to the fetishization of consumption. He investigates concepts of fragmentation, mutation, archiving, sedimentation, and stratification.
Engaging with contemporary media, Zancana builds an environmental photographic archive that he dissects, refracts, vivisects, and digitally repeats. In a later stage, through printing, sculpture, and video, he constructs immersive display installations characterized by overlapping heterogeneous layers. These successive stratifications emerge as a result of his study of the human-environment-object triad—an unceasing bond shaped by time.
